Five arrested, replica firearms seized in Chatswood

Five males are in custody after replica firearms were seized in Chatswood overnight.

About 6.30pm (Wednesday 16 January 2019) officers from North Shore Police Area Command were called to a shopping centre on Spring Street, Chatswood, after reports of a group of males with firearms.

About 6.40pm, police arrested an 18-year-old man, and four teenage boys aged 17, outside a Chatswood supermarket.

Three were taken to Chatswood Police Station, and two were taken to North Sydney Police Station where they are assisting with inquiries.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

A number of replica firearms have been seized.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information is urged to come forward.
