Five charged and over 8000 cannabis plants seized in Toolamba

Shepparton Divisional Tasking Unit detectives have charged five men after seizing thousands of cannabis plants at a property in Toolamba on Wednesday.

Officers conducted a search warrant at a property on Waugh Road about 9am on Wednesday, 9 February as part of an ongoing investigation into drug cultivation.

Police located and seized more than 8000 cannabis plants at the address.

The estimated street worth is yet to be determined as police are still counting the number of plants.

Three men, aged 47, 29, 27 and two men aged 32, believed to have been living at the address, were arrested at the scene without incident.

They were on Thursday charged with cultivate a large commercial quantity of cannabis.

They were remanded to appear at the Shepparton Magistrates' Court today.
