Five charged following investigations into drug supply in Coonamble

Five people have now been charged following investigations into the alleged ongoing supply of prohibited drugs in Coonamble, NSW Police say.

Strike Force Delaney was established by officers from Castlereagh Local Area Command in February 2017 to investigate the alleged supply of methylamphetamine ‘ICE’ in Coonamble.

Following extensive inquiries, a search warrant was executed at a home on Nash Street in Coonamble on Sunday 10 September. A large amount of cash and methylamphetamine was seized.

As a result of subsequent inquiries, a 57-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday (21 November 2017) and taken to Coonamble Police Station.

She was charged with a total of 11 offences, including supplying a commercial quantity of prohibited drugs.

The woman appeared at Walgett Local Court where she was bail refused to reappear on 13 February 2018.

A 64-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were also arrested and taken to Walgett Police Station.

Both were charged with participating in a criminal group and dealing with the proceeds of crime and given conditional bail to appear at Coonamble Local Court on 18 December 2017.

Two men – aged 28 and 32 – were previously arrested and charged with multiple counts of supply prohibited drugs and remain before the courts.
