After peaking just above the major flood level on Thursday morning, the Katherine River at Katherine Bridge is now below the minor flood level and falling. Upstream, the river level at Nitmiluk Centre is easing and is likely to fall below the minor flood level Friday afternoon.
With no significant rainfall forecast over the next few days, river levels across the Katherine River catchment will continue easing into the weekend and early part of next week.

Minor flooding is easing along the Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre.
The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is currently at 3.55 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is likely to fall below the minor flood level (3.00 m) Friday afternoon.
Katherine Town:
Elevated river levels are easing along the Katherine River at Katherine Town.
The Katherine River at Katherine Bridge peaked at 17.58 m around 8:15 am Thursday, with major flooding.
The river is currently at 15.49 m and falling, below the minor flood level (16.00 m). The Katherine River at Katherine Bridge will continue to fall over the next few days and will remain below the minor flood level (16.00 m).
