ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC:

FLOODING OCCURRING ACROSS PARTS OF THE BARKLY AND CARPENTARIA CATCHMENTS

Widespread showers and isolated heavy falls have now contracted into Queensland with the eastward movement of the monsoon low. There is no significant rainfall forecast within the flood watch area over the next few days.

Following the recent rainfall, river and creek level rises, overland flow, and isolated flooding in low-lying areas are occurring across many inland parts of the Flood Watch catchments. This is impacting roads and river crossings and is likely to continue for several days. Check road conditions before travelling.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Towns River

Limmen Bight River

Rosie River

Robinson River

Calvert River

Settlement Creek

Georgina River and Eyre Creek (impacts in northern parts of catchment)

Barkly (impacts in eastern parts of catchment)
