• Fast flowing flood water can contain objects that may injure or trap you

• Flood water may contain toxic waste, chemicals and dangerous animals

ACTION STATEMENTS:

• Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous

• Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways

• Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads

• Check the ABC and local media for updates. The situation can change quickly, so stay informed

ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC:

MODERATE FLOODING CONTINUING AT DALY RIVER POLICE STATION

Moderate flooding is continuing at Daly River Police Station, where river levels are slowly easing.

Isolated showers and storms are possible across parts of the Daly River catchment over the next few days but are not expected to cause any significant river level rises.

Daly River above Douglas River:

River levels are elevated but gradually easing along the Daly River.

Lower Daly River:

Moderate flooding is occurring along the Lower Daly River.

The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is currently at 13.48 m and steady, with moderate flooding. The river is likely to fall below the moderate flood level (13.10 m) during Friday. The river may fall below the minor flood level (12.60 m) during Saturday.
