ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC.
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BESWICK BRIDGE
Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecasts for the next day or two in the Roper and Waterhouse Rivers.
Whilst river levels are falling across the Waterhouse River, renewed rises to the moderate flood level or prolonged flooding are possible with forecast rainfall. River levels remain elevated across the Roper River.
This situation will be closely monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End.
Waterhouse River:
Moderate flooding is possible along the Waterhouse River.
The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is currently at 7.96 m and falling, with minor flooding. The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is expected to remain above the minor flood level (7.70 m) through to Sunday evening. Renewed river level rises to the moderate flood level (8.10 m) are possible overnight Sunday into Monday with forecast rainfall.
Roper River below Elsey Creek:
River levels are elevated throughout the Roper River catchment.
