ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC:
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT KALKARINDJI FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING
Recent moderate rainfall across the upper Victoria River catchment has caused renewed rises at Kalkarindji with minor flooding possible from Wednesday morning.
Continued rainfall associated with the monsoon trough is forecast over the next few days which may cause further river level rises. The situation will be closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Bonaparte, North West Coastal and Carpentaria Coastal River catchments.
Upper Victoria River:
Minor flooding is possible along the upper Victoria River.
The Victoria River at Kalkarindji is currently at 8.80 m and rising, below the minor flood level. The Victoria River at Kalkarindji may peak near the minor flood level (9.00 m) late Wednesday morning.
