Food delivery driver hospitalised after assault, man charged in Narwee

Police have charged a man after a food delivery driver was allegedly assaulted in Narwee overnight, NSW Police say.

On Saturday 26 May 2018, a 21-year-old man has ordered takeaway food from a local restaurant to be delivered to his home address in Narwee.

About 5.45pm (Saturday 26 May 2018) the food was delivered by a 27-year-old man.

Police have been told an argument ensued.

The 21-year-old man has allegedly pushed the older man forcing him out from the unit complex onto the street.

The younger man has allegedly punched the older man several times to the face causing significant injuries and bleeding.

Officers from St George Police Area Command were alerted and commenced investigations.

The 27-year-old man was treated at the scene, before being taken to St George Hospital with a suspected eye socket fracture, a broken nose and a chipped tooth.

Police arrested a 21-year-old man at the scene. He was taken to Kogarah Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday 19 June 2018.
