Footage Sought in Bruce Highway Crash, Gympie Region

Forensic crash investigators are seeking witnesses to a serious crash involving a car and a pedestrian in Gunalda this evening June 21, where an 83-year-old man was left with life threatening injuries.

Emergency services were called to reports the man had been struck by a black Mercedes Benz travelling in the southbound lanes of the Bruce Highway around 5:30pm.

The driver, a 54-year-old man, stopped to help the victim and alerted emergency services.

The driver was not physically injured.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have vision, including CCTV or dashcam, of the Mercedes or the pedestrian in the moments leading up to the crash, to please come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
