Football Australia (FA) has sanctioned four players for engaging in match-fixing offences, in breach of the FA National Code of Conduct and Ethics, as follows:
Clayton Lewis and Kearyn Baccus have been banned from all football-related activity for a period of 5-years commencing on 17 May 2024 (being the date they were both issued no-fault interim suspensions by FA).
Mr Lewis and Mr Baccus were each offered the option and have elected to complete 200 hours of unpaid football-related community service to support FA's integrity and education programs. Completion of the football-related community service will reduce Mr Lewis and Mr Baccus' bans by 12 months.
The community service element of the sanction is designed to provide the players an avenue of rehabilitation and constructive engagement with the football community during their bans.
Riku Danzaki and Yuta Hirayama have been banned from all football-related activity for a period of 7-years commencing on 1 June 2025 (being the date they were both issued no-fault interim suspensions by FA).
All four sanctioned players have determined not to exercise their appeal rights and have accepted the sanctions imposed by Football Australia.
