Former NSW Police civilian employee charged - Western Region

A former NSW Police civilian employee has been charged after allegedly accessing restricted information.

In October 2022, officers from Oxley Police District commenced an investigation, following reports a woman – a civilian employee at a specialist command - unlawfully accessed restricted and sensitive data held in a police computer and distributed it outside the organisation.

Following extensive inquiries, the 33-year-old woman was issued a court attendance notice yesterday (Thursday 2 March 2023), for two counts of access/modify restricted data held in computer and public official unlawfully disclose information

The woman is due to appear at Tamworth Local Court on Monday 17 April 2023.

Her employment has since been terminated.
