Former officer charged

A former NSW police officer has been charged with Commonwealth impersonation offences.

In September 2020, the Professional Standard Command commenced an investigation, executing a search warrant at the home in Sydney's south west, where mobile phones and an Australian Army dress uniform were seized.

The man, who was a senior Constable attached to a specialist command, resigned in late September.

Following inquiries, the 30-year-old man was issued a Court Attendance Notice today (Thursday 24 December 2020), for eight counts of represent self as person having been conferred service medal, and 21 counts of falsely represent to be returned soldier/sailor/airman.

Police will allege in court the man falsely represented himself as a military service person.

He is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Friday 12 February 2021.
