Four arrested hiding from police in Dalyston

Victoria Police's Dog Squad have assisted local officers with the arrest of four people following five burglaries in Dalyston overnight.

Officers responded to a report multiple offenders were inside an address on Mouth of Powlett Road about 9pm.

Police were quickly on scene and spotted two vehicles attempting to flee to scene.

A white van tried to evade police but got stuck reversing into bushes.

The two occupants fled on foot and hid in dense shrubland.

Officers began searching the area and located a woman and man who surrendered to police.

The 36-year-old Glen Alvie woman and the 35 -year-old Glen Alive man were arrested and are currently assisting police with their enquiries.

The police dog and his handler supported officers in locating another couple in bushland nearby.

The male, a 46-year-old from Wonthaggi was arrested and is assisting police with their enquiries.

The woman, a 32 -year-old from Wonthaggi was taken to hospital for non-related medical issues.

It's expected she will be interviewed by police at a later date.

It's alleged five houses on the property and a shed were ransacked during the crime spree.
