Four Charged in $2M Cannabis Bust

Four men have appeared in court charged with the cultivation and supply of cannabis after more than $2 million of cannabis was seized in Sydney's south.

Strike Force Grassy was established by officers attached to the Central Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad -South to target people involved in the cultivation of cannabis.

As a part of the ongoing investigation, detectives commenced inquiries in February 2026, into the alleged cultivation of cannabis in the Sutherland Shire.

Following inquiries, strike force detectives, with the assistance from Public Order Riot Squad and Dog Squad, executed a warrant at a home on Shirley Street, Miranda, about 5pm on Tuesday (24 February 2026).

At the home, four men – aged 51, 50, 41 and 36 – were arrested.

During a search of the home, officers located and seized approximately 240kg of cannabis and seven cannabis plants, with an estimated potential street value of $2.1 million.

About 9.30pm on the same day, detectives executed a subsequent search warrant at a home on Langer Avenue, Caringbah South, where they seized four firearms.

The men were taken to Sutherland Police Station where they were all charged with enhanced indoor cultivate cannabis for commercial purpose, supply prohibited drug - large commercial quantity, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

The 50-year-old man was additionally charged with possess unregistered firearm – pistol.

As part of further inquiries, ana additional search warrant was executed at a home on Robert Road, San Souci, where further 3.3kg of cannabis, approximately $95,000 cash and documents were seized.

All items were seized will undergo forensic examination.

The four men appeared at Sutherland Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 25 February 2026), where they were formally refused bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 23 April 2026.
