Four charged over carpark fight in Penrith

Four people have been charged after a man was seriously injured in a fight at Penrith on the weekend.

Police were called to the carpark of a fast-food outlet on Mulgoa Road, Penrith, about 1.30am Sunday (3 February 2019), and found 32-year-old man suffering a head injury and a 34-year-old man with facial injuries.

Police have been told the men were injured during a fight in the carpark with a group of five men, who fled the scene before officers arrived.

The injured men were treated at the scene by paramedics before they were taken to Westmead Hospital.

The younger man remains in hospital receiving treatment for several facial fractures, while the older man has been treated and released.

Following inquiries, police executed two search warrants at St Clair and Glenmore Park this morning (Wednesday 6 February 2019).

Four men, aged between 19 and 22, were later arrested at Penrith Police Station.

A 19-year-old St Clair man was charged with cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent, and

affray.

A 19-year-old Glenmore Park man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others, affray, and common assault.

A 20-year-old Glenmore Park man was charged with cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others, and affray.

A 20-year-old Glenmore Park man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others, and affray.

All four men were refused bail to appear in Penrith Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 7 February 2019).
