Four charged over dangerous driving incident in stolen motor vehicle, TAS

Four people have been arrested and charged with the following offences as a result of an overnight house burglary that occurred in Brighton where an orange Holden Commodore was stolen from the residence, Tasmania Police say:

A 21 year old man from Gagebrook – Aggravated burglary, stealing, motor vehicle stealing, dangerous driving, evading police and driving whilst suspended. He was detained for court.

A 19 year old man from New Norfolk – Motor Vehicle Stealing – bailed with conditions

A 24 year old man from Glenorchy – Motor Vehicle Stealing – bailed with conditions

A 19 year old woman from Howrah – Motor Vehicle Stealing – bailed with conditions

The vehicle was witnessed (by members of the public and police) driving dangerously throughout the greater Hobart area during the early hours of the morning.

A coordinated response by Southern District Uniform successfully deployed road spikes on the stolen vehicle around 4am this morning at Mornington where three people were arrested at the scene.  The fourth person and driver of the vehicle was located hiding in the area a few hours later.

Police would like to remind home owners to lock their doors when home and not to leave their vehicle keys in areas where they are easily accessed by thieves.
