Dementia Australia is preparing to host its first ever 'Memory Walk & Dog' events, as part of its popular Memory Walk & Jog series.
As Memory Walk & Jog prepares to get 'pup and running' at Stuart Park, North Wollongong on Sunday 3 March, participants are encouraged to register their furry friends too, and bring them along for a very special walk!
Each dog registered will receive a special Memory Walk & Jog dog bandana, so your pooch will really look the part.
Dementia Australia's Memory Walk & Jog raises much-needed funds to support the work of Dementia Australia, which provides invaluable support, education and resources for people living with dementia in Australia, their carers, families and friends.
This year, participants can choose to take part in a 2km, 6.5km or 7.5km walk, jog or run and are invited to help us reach the $140,000 fundraising target. All funds raised will benefit Dementia Australia services in Illawarra.
Dementia Australia CEO Maree McCabe said the course is family (and dog!) friendly, and for all ages and fitness levels.
"With the launch of 'Memory Walk & Dog', we're delighted to be offering a way for participants to officially involve their four-legged friends," Ms McCabe said.
"It really is the paw-fect event for all the family!"
There will be prizes for the top fundraisers, as well as raffles, plenty of entertainment, food stalls, and a special guest appearance from Memory Walk & Jog mascot, Al the Elephant.
