Four More Arrested in Illawarra as Raptor Dismantles Drug Ring

Raptor Squad detectives continue to dismantle an alleged drug ring in the Illawarra Region, as four more men are arrested under Strike Force Gindurra.

In February 2023, State Crime Command's Raptor Squad South established Strike Force Gindurra to investigate the large-scale supply of cocaine by alleged associates of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMCG) and Organised Crime Networks (OCN) in the Illawarra Region.

Four men – two aged 21 and two aged 42 – have already been charged under Strike Force Gindurra and remain before the courts.

Following further extensive inquiries, about 9.15am yesterday (Wednesday 31 May 2023), strike force detectives arrested a 30-year-old man at a home on Goolagong Circuit, Mount Warrigal.

He was taken to Wollongong Police Station, where he was charged with five offences including three counts of supply prohibited drug >indictable &

The man was bail refused and appeared before Wollongong Local Court yesterday, where he was formally refused bail to appear in the same court today (Thursday 1 June 2023).

About 10am yesterday, strike force detectives arrested a 25-year-old man at a gym on Montague Street, North Wollongong.

He was taken to Wollongong Police Station, where he was charged with four offences including participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, supply prohibited drug >indictable &

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday 28 June 2023.

A short time later, strike force detectives attended a café on Keira Street, Wollongong, where they arrested a 38-year-old man.

He was taken to Wollongong Police Station and charged with five offences including three counts of supply prohibited drug >indictable &

The man was bail refused and appeared before Wollongong Local Court yesterday, where he was formally refused bail to appear before the same court today.

About 10am today, strike force detectives arrested a 24-year-old man at Wollongong Police Station, who is assisting with ongoing inquiries.
