Four More Youths Charged After Brawl - Broadway

A further four youths will face court following an investigation into an alleged brawl at a Broadway shopping centre on Wednesday, bringing the total to seven charged.

About 5.50pm on Wednesday (10 December 2025), police were called to a shopping centre on Bay Street, Glebe, following reports of a brawl.

Officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command attended and were told a group of teenagers had confronted another boy in the food court area before an argument began.

The group then began to throw chairs at the boy; some chairs falling to a lower level of the shopping centre.

The group and the boy left prior to police arrival and no injuries were reported.

Following a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, a joint operation involving police from Leichhardt Police Area Command, the Central Metropolitan Region Squad, Dog Unit and Leichhardt Highway Patrol was conducted yesterday (Thursday 11 December 2025).

During the operation, police arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy at Glebe and a 15-year-old boy at Newtown Police Station.

Following inquiries, four teenage boys were arrested and charged today, Friday 12 December 2025 with affray.

Two boys aged 15 and 16 were refused bail and appeared before Children's Court today, Friday 12 December 2025

A 17-year-old was refused bail to appear before Children's Court tomorrow, Saturday 13 December 2025.

A 15-year-old boy was granted conditional bail to appear before a Children's Court on Monday 12 January 2026.
