Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace has announced the appointment of four new commissioners to the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC).
Ms Grace said the Governor-in-Council had approved the appointment of John Cornelius Dwyer, Catherine Marie Hartigan, Jacqueline Marie Power and Roslyn Donita Halliday McLennan to the Commission from 9 July 2019.
"Each of the appointees bring the life skills, professional experience and expertise required of a commissioner of the QIRC and I congratulate them on their appointment," Ms Grace said.
The new commissioners will fill vacancies in the QIRC following the retirement of two members earlier this year and the impending retirement of a further two members.
Since 2005, Mr Dwyer has been a practising barrister and works mainly in industrial and employment law. He has previously worked for the Queensland Chamber of Commerce and Industry and holds a Bachelor of Laws.
For more than a decade, Ms Hartigan has been a practising barrister and works mainly in commercial, contract, industrial and employment law. She has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts.
Ms Power has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts. She is currently the legal adviser for the Australian Workers' Union.
Ms McLennan has a Bachelor of Economics and is the General Secretary of the Queensland Council of Unions.
The Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) is an independent tribunal established to conciliate and arbitrate industrial matters in Queensland.
