Darebin detectives have spent the evening processing four teenagers for a number of offences after they were arrested in an allegedly stolen vehicle in Mill Park yesterday afternoon, Victoria Police say.
The outstanding stolen Jeep that was taken from a residential burglary in Bundoora on September 7 was spotted in Kingsbury about 1.10pm and tracked by police for some time.
The vehicle left the northern suburbs but returned shortly after.
Police successfully closed in and stopped the car near the intersection of Garden Grove Drive and McKimmies Road in Mill Park.
Four teenage boys were arrested at the scene and handed over to Darebin Crime Investigation Unit.
The alleged driver, a 16-year-old from Epping was charged with dangerous driving when pursued by police, theft of motor vehicle and other related offences.
A 15-year-old boy from Preston received the charges of theft of motor vehicle and burglary.
Another 15-year-old boy from Mill Park also received theft of motor vehicle and burglary.
The 14-year-old boy from Diamond Creek received two thefts of motor vehicle charges and one burglary.
All four were refused bail and will appear at a Children’s Court tomorrow.
