Four teens charged over armed robbery, NSW

Four teenagers have been charged over an alleged armed robbery at a liquor store near Lake Illawarra, NSW Police say.

About 9pm yesterday (Monday 15 January 2018), police will allege four male youths threatened a 19-year-old male employee with a knife at the store in Tongarra Road, Albion Park.

They allegedly stole cash, alcohol and cigarettes. No one was injured.

Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command commenced an investigation.

About 1am today (Tuesday 16 January 2018), the four boys were arrested on the Princes Highway, Yallah, and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

The boys – aged 14, 16, 14 and 17 – were charged with robbery with an offensive weapon.

They were refused bail and are due to appear before a children’s court today.

Inquiries continue.
