Four treated for smoke inhalation after unit fire - Lindfield

Three police officers and an elderly man have been treated overnight for the effects of smoke inhalation after a unit fire at Lindfield.

Officers from North Shore Police Area Command were first on the scene when the fire broke out about 7.40pm (Sunday 4 August 2019), in a block of units on Treatts Road.

The officers evacuated people from 17 units, and assisted two men, aged 99 and 82, after they were unable to escape.

Three officers and the older man were taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where they have been treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.

All officers – two male and one female – have now been released and have gone home.

At this time the fire is not believed to be suspicious, possibly caused by an electrical issue.
