Four youths charged with home invasion by Bendigo detectives

Detectives have charged four youths following a home invasion and the theft of two cars in the early hours of Friday morning.

The incident occurred at a residential address in Strathfieldsaye when the four teenagers, in an alleged previously stolen vehicle, attended at the address just after 4am.

Two of the teenagers entered the house and allegedly stole two sets of car keys before stealing a black Ford sedan located in the driveway.

The four teenagers were seen throughout the night in Spring Gully, West Bendigo and Maiden Gully, driving both stolen vehicles in an erratic manner but refused to stop when police attempted to intercept them.

The four were subsequently arrested by detectives at a Kangaroo Flat address at 11.45am.

Police have charged:

• a 15-year-old Kangaroo Flat boy with two counts of theft of motor car, home invasion, theft and commit indictable offence while on bail,

• a 14-year-old Epsom boy with two counts of theft of motor car, home invasion, theft and commit indictable offence whilst on bail,

• a 14-year-old Long Gully boy with two counts of theft of motor car, home invasion and theft,

• a 16-year-old North Bendigo boy charged with two counts of theft of motor car, home invasion, theft and commit indictable offence while on bail.

All are expected to appear at a children's court at a later date.
