Fourth Man Charged in Lidcombe Shooting

Police have charged a fourth man after a fatal shooting in Sydney's west last week.

On Monday 16 March 2026, officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command commenced an investigation into an alleged shooting on Shale Street, Lidcombe.

A 38-year-old man was taken to a hospital however, he could not be revived.

A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, three men – aged 22, 21 and 19 – have since been charged and they remain before the court.

Following further inquiries, about 11.40am today (Monday 23 March 2026), police arrested a 26-year-old man in the St Clair area.

He was taken to St Mary Police Station where he was charged with murder and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 24 March 2026).

Inquiries continue.
