Fourth man charged with rural crime offences at Nyngan

A fourth man has been charged following investigations into the theft of firearms from a property in the state's Orana Region.

Strike Force Akoonah was established by officers at Central North Police District to investigate the theft of firearms during an aggravated break, enter and steal offence at a property near Nyngan in August 2019.

Following inquiries, investigators arrested a 23-year-old man at a home on Oxley Street at Nyngan, about 7.30am yesterday (Wednesday 11 December 2019).

He was taken to Nyngan Police Station where he was charged with use supply stolen firearm or firearm part, and supply give ammunition to person not authorised.

He was granted conditional bail at Dubbo Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 11 December 2019) and will reappear before Nyngan Local Court on Monday 24 February 2020.

The arrest comes after three men – one aged 22 and two 23-year-olds – were charged in relation to the incident between Monday 23 September 2019 and Tuesday 3 December 2019.

They remain before the court.
