Fourth person charged over 2015 attempted murder, NSW

A fourth person has been charged over the alleged attempted murder of a man at Picnic Point in 2015, NSW Police say.

In the early hours on Sunday 1 February 2015, police were called to Henry Lawson Drive, and found a 45-year-old man in a vehicle with fuel in and around it.

Police will allege a man was asleep in the vehicle at an address in Merrylands, before waking up in the passenger seat at the other location.

Three women were previously charged with attempted murder and put before the courts.

Yesterday (Thursday 5 July 2018), officers from Bankstown Police Area Command arrested a 23-year-old man.

He was taken to Sutherland Police Station where he was charged with attempt to murder by means other than in Sections 27-29 and throw/lay down etc explosive with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man appeared at Sutherland Local Court yesterday (Thursday 5 July 2018), where he was refused bail to reappear at Sutherland Local Court today (Friday 6 July 2018).
