Fourth Teen Charged in Hunter Region Offenses

Police have charged a fourth teenage boy following an investigation into property offences in the Hunter Region last month.

On Sunday 30 November 2025, police commenced an investigation following reports of break and enters at unit complexes in Tarro.

Police have been told that a group entered a unit complex on Quarter Session Road, Tarro, before allegedly stealing a wallet and an electronic device about 11pm on Saturday 29 November 2025.

A short time later, another unit complex on the same street was allegedly broken into, and a handbag and a Suzuki sedan were stolen.

Officers located the sedan abandoned on Kingstown Road, Woodberry, about 5.30am on Sunday 30 November 2025.

Police established multiple crime scenes and seized the vehicle for a forensic examination.

Following inquiries, three teenage boys – one aged 16 and two aged 15 – have since been charged and they remain before the court.

Following further inquiries, about 8.20am today (Friday 12 December 2025), police arrested a 15-year-old boy in Cameron Park area.

He was taken to Toronto Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence (two counts) and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

He was refused bail to appear at Children's Court today (Friday 12 December 2025), where he was refused bail to appear at the same court on Friday 19 December 2025.

Inquiries under Operation Soteria continue.
