Fox baiting at Ern Miles Reserve

Kyabram Allan Street

Campaspe Shire Council will start a two and a half week fox baiting program at Ern Miles Reserve in Kyabram from Thursday, 15 June.

Campaspe Shire Council Director Infrastructure, Kate Lemon said the baiting continues to be an important step towards the protection of wildlife from fox attacks in the area.

"The reserve is doing well, providing habitat for a variety of birds, kangaroos, wallabies and brushtail possums.

"The baiting program also helps to protect the native animals at the nearby Kyabram Fauna Park.

"The reserve will remain safe and open to the public, however it is important that dogs are kept on leads, in line with existing requirements," Ms Lemon said.

Signs will be in place highlighting that the fox control program is under way and letters have been sent to adjoining landowners.

The program will run for two and a half weeks with fox baits removed on Sunday, 2 July.
