It's one of Eurobodalla's biggest music events, and this year, local talent is amped to take centre stage.
Currents, on Saturday April 9, will showcase up-and-coming youth bands, who will compete for glory in a prestigious battle of the bands at Moruya's Riverside Park.
The battle of the bands was introduced in 2021 as taster to the main acts. It struck such a chord with the crowd, they wanted more.
Eurobodalla Council's community development officer Emily Dannock said last year's event was "incredible" with more than 750 people of all ages watching the performances.
Tensions were high, she said, as the bands took to the stage, with Carroll College's Singled Out taking home the golden trophy.
"The bands said it was such a great opportunity to get to perform in front of their friends and hometown and on such a big stage, so we decided this year to accept more bands into the competition and focus more on this aspect of the event," Emily said.
"We'll have nine different high school-based bands compete this year - their members range in age from 13 to 18. They've all been busy finessing their sound and are totally pumped."
Judging the battle will be Jake Schoer, who organises open mic nights at Moruya's Monarch Hotel, music legend Dave Boyes, who grew up in Eurobodalla and performed at Council's youth events as a student, and local musician Val Moogz.
"There'll also be more of a festival vibe with more food trucks, local DJs, market stalls and giveaways," said Emily.
"This year's Currents will be the best yet!"
Currents will be held at Moruya's Riverside Park on Saturday 9 April, 3-8pm. Tickets are free via Eventbrite – and the first 100 people through the gate receive a voucher to one of the on-site food vendors.
