Free gigs to warm heart for long weekend

MidCoast Council

Recent Festival of Place performances across the MidCoast have sparked a new exciting atmosphere for our main streets, with free pop up musical events planned for the June long weekend in four of our iconic locations.

"After an overwhelmingly positive response to the free Festival of Place gigs that were held across the MidCoast, we're bringing four more live music gigs to our streets on Saturday 12 June, this time in Taree, Forster, Gloucester and Tuncurry," said MidCoast Council's Economic Development Coordinator, Robyn Brennan.

Wrap up warm, and come along to warm up on the inside as we beat the winter chill with Matt Zarb in Forster, Hudson Rose in Taree, The Grasscutters in Gloucester and Grace Callaghan in Tuncurry.

"Free street gigs are a great opportunity to support local performers as they emerge from a difficult year - so come along to one of these main streets and really show your support for MidCoast musicians. We're looking forward to seeing the performers spark some joy on MidCoast streets this June long weekend."

All events are free, and will kick off at 9.30am and finish up at 12.30pm. You'll find the performers at Blows Lane off Wharf Street in Forster, outside Raw Sugar Café in Victoria Street Taree, at The Meeting Place in Church Street Gloucester and outside the Tuncurry Post Office, South Street Tuncurry.

"Any MidCoast businesses that want to activate their streets are more than welcome to get involved and host local performers as part of our Vibrant Spaces program," added Robyn.
