This important cost-of-living measure will see Tasmanians travel on buses for free from March 30 until July 1, 2026.
Minister for Ageing, Bridget Archer, said our Liberal Government is delivering for Tasmanians by taking strong action on the cost of living.
"Free buses will be a gamechanger for many, but our older Tasmanians will be particularly supported by this initiative," Minister Archer said.
"We know that many older Tasmanians rely on public transport to get to and from town.
"They will no longer need to pay for those journeys, instead being able to put that money towards other important things.
"This investment ensures public transport is not just available, but genuinely accessible to everyone.
"It will help families manage rising costs, support our older Tasmanians, back in students and workers who rely on regular travel, and strengthen connections between our regional towns and major centres.
"Our Liberal Government is delivering for Tasmanians, investing in fairness, opportunity, and the future of our great state."
