Free Workshops for Bass Coast Sports Clubs

Bass Coast sporting clubs are invited to get game-ready and take part in free workshops this July and August to learn more about Council's Fair Access Policy and how it applies to their club.

A year on from the policy's adoption, we're teaming up with GippSport to deliver two free, fun and practical workshops for club volunteers. Whether you're a coach, committee member, parent or player, these sessions will give you the tools to improve gender equity at your club.

Adopted at the July 2024 Council Meeting, the Fair Access Policy and Action Plan is aimed at enhancing gender equity within the local community. These workshops are part of the action plan, giving clubs guidance how to conduct gender equity audits and develop action plans, to make sure no one is left on the sidelines.

With their expertise in making sport accessible for all, GippSport will guide clubs through what the Fair Access Policy means for your club, how to improve gender equity on and off the field, and how to create an action plan you can actually deliver.

We know club volunteers are busy, so you can pick the session that suits you best:

  • Online workshop on Monday 28 July (6.30-8pm) or
  • In-person session with supper at Wonthaggi Community Stadium on Tuesday 5 August (6.30-8pm).

Both workshops are free to attend and are designed to help your club meet Fair Access requirements, strengthen your commitment to gender equity, and plan for the future. All Bass Coast sporting clubs are encouraged to attend.
