From Ground Up - JAM - Label

National Australia Bank

Emma Clegg and Molly Rogers are former Occupational Therapists and Disability Support Workers, who have created the inclusive and adaptive clothing brand JAM - The Label.

Meeting at university, Emma and Molly would often reflect on working with clients and the struggles they had finding clothing that was not only easy for them to dress in but also fashionable.

"We got a lot of feedback from our customers that were entering the workforce or going on dates who wanted to feel confident and be able to express themselves through their clothes.

Anything that was easier or more comfortable was daggy and not stuff that we would want to wear. So why should they have to?"

FILLING A GAP IN THE MARKET

Jumping on the idea, JAM - The Label was born, but they quickly learnt that there was a lot of help needed to bring their vision to life.

"We were so fortunate to be able to lean on our networks to build and grow the business from an idea to an actual product."

THE FUTURE OF FASHION

Three years, and a lot of hard work later, JAM - The Label now has a range of 15 products and is stocked in one of Australia's biggest online fashion retailers, The Iconic.

"Finally, there is the recognition within the mainstream fashion industry that inclusive and adaptive clothing this is needed and that it's cool."

Watch NAB's Executive for Business and Private Banking, Andrew Irvine chat with Emma and Molly to hear about their business journey so far and the future of inclusive fashion.
