The Kinship Festival in Murwillumbah is a recipient of Council's 2020/21 Event Sponsorship funding.
Applications for Tweed Shire Council's 2021/22 Events Sponsorship funding round are open.

Event organisers are encouraged to consider applying for funding, with Council supporting a range of events including sport, food, music, community, business, and the arts.

Applications close on Monday 31 May 2021 and will be considered at Council's meeting in August.

Council Events Officer Kerrie McConnell said the funding opportunities were designed to help existing events grow and to attract exciting new event opportunities to the Tweed.

"We understand there are still limits on events and gatherings due to COVID-19, however we are working hard with the event and tourism industry to develop our region's capacity to deliver authentic and well-organised events to reconnect our communities," she said.

During 2020/21 funding recipients included the Tweed Artisan Food Weekend, the Tweed Wedding Trail, the Kinship Festival taking place in Knox Park, Murwillumbah on Saturday 22 May 2021, the Kingscliff Triathlon taking place on Sunday 23 May and the upcoming World Environment Day in Knox Park on Sunday 6 June.
