Melton City Council has welcomed a $9 million funding announcement by the Victorian Government towards the delivery of Deanside Children's and Community Centre.
The Hon. Lizzie Blandthorn MP, Minister for Children, recently announced the funding for the project via the Victorian Government's Building Blocks Partnership Fund.
Council has committed $7.6 million to the project in its 2025/26 Budget. Once complete, the new centre will deliver vital early childhood and family services, including 3- and 4-year-old funded kindergarten and maternal child health services.
It will also provide opportunities for community connection with the inclusion of multipurpose rooms which can be utilised for a range of programs and events.
The centre is scheduled for completion in early 2027, with the kindergarten due to open in term 1.
