The Mobile Black Spot Program West Coast Tasmania Mobile Capacity Uplift Round is now open for applications from national mobile network operators.
The Australian Government is investing $9.8 million to improve the reliability and capacity of mobile services in the local government areas of Circular Head, Waratah-Wynyard and West Coast on the West Coast of Tasmania.
The Mobile Black Spot Program (MBSP) is an Australian Government initiative that invests in telecommunications infrastructure to improve mobile coverage and competition across Australia.
The MBSP West Coast Tasmania Mobile Capacity Uplift Round is open for applications from national mobile network operators until Friday 28 August 2026.
Mobile infrastructure providers who partner with a national mobile network operator are also eligible to apply.
Local councils will play a key role in the Round by endorsing projects as a local priority that meets community needs.
The MBSP is part of the Better Connectivity Plan for Regional and Remote Australia.
