Council has entered into a new $36,000 three-year funding agreement with the Babinda Visitor Information Centre Inc (BVIC).
The $12,000 per annum support will assist with the dissemination of tourist information about the Babinda and Cairns regions to local, domestic and international visitors.
The new agreement will support the delivery of Council's Economic Development Strategy 2022-2026, where Babinda is recognised as a Geographic Area of Focus, and the BVIC is identified as a key stakeholder in the continued delivery of positive outcomes for area.
The BVIC is the only accredited visitor information centre in the Cairns Local Government area, is run by 26 volunteers from the Babinda community.
