Funds Flow For Tasmanian Community Sport Infrastructure

Tasmanian Government

More than 30 community sport projects are set to share in $5 million of funding through the latest round of the Tasmanian Active Infrastructure Grants Program.

Minister for Sport, Nick Duigan, said the program would deliver safe, inclusive and accessible spaces, ensuring more Tasmanians get active and have places to play.

"Sport and active recreation are at the heart of our communities," Minister Duigan said.

"By investing in modern, inclusive and accessible facilities, we are ensuring more Tasmanians can get involved, stay active and enjoy the many benefits.

"These grants will help local clubs and councils deliver projects that make a real difference, particularly for groups who have traditionally faced barriers to participation."

The Tasmanian Active Infrastructure Grants Program backs not-for-profit sport and active recreation organisations and local government authorities.

"Funded projects include a variety of sport and recreational activities, including paddle sports, tennis, AFL, football, lawn bowls and cricket," Minister Duigan said.

"Our Government is delivering for Tasmania by investing in community sporting facilities across the State."
