Further charges laid in investigation into shooting murder of Craig Anderson

Detectives have laid additional charges, including murder, against a man as they continue to investigate the fatal shooting of a man in Sydney's west.

About 7.30pm (Monday 27 May 2019), police and emergency services were called to Meridian Place, Doonside, after reports a man had been shot.

On arrival, officers located Craig Anderson, aged 51, with gunshot wounds. He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic and ballistics officers.

Detectives from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, with assistance from the Organised Crime Squad and Blacktown Police Area Command, commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting under Strike Force Naradhun.

Following inquiries, five men – aged 22, 28, 44 and two aged 27 – were charged last week. They remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, the 44-year-old Mt Druitt man was arrested at Mt Druitt Police Station just after 3pm yesterday (Monday 3 June 2019).

He was taken to Riverstone Police Station, where he was charged with murder and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

The man was refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Tuesday 4 June 2019).

Investigations under Strike Force Naradhun are continuing.
