Further charges over drug supply in Tamworth area - Strike Force Heyward

A further two people have now been charged as Strike Force Heyward continues to target drug supply in the Tamworth area.

Investigators from Oxley Police District Target Action Group, with assistance from the Western Region Enforcement Squad, initiated Strike Force Heyward in July 2019 to investigate the supply of MDMA and cocaine in licensed premises in Tamworth.

So far, police have charged five men with a string of drug related offences that are now before the court.

Today (Monday 9 December 2019), a 23-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug - large commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug - commercial quantity, supply cannabis - indictable quantity, organises/conducts/assists drug premises, and organises/conducts/assists drug premises expose child.

He was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today (Tuesday 10 December 2019).

A teenage boy, aged 15, was also charged with supply prohibited drug - commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug, organises/conducts/assists drug premises, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

He was refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Tuesday 10 December 2019).
