Further reports of rock throwing on Southern Expressway received, SA

Police are investigating two additional reports of suspected rock throwing on the Southern Expressway yesterday, Wednesday 20 June, according to SA Police.

A driver has reported that about 9.30am he was driving north along the Southern Expressway between Flaxmill Road Bridge and Glenhelen Path, Christies Downs when an object hit his vehicle causing minor damage.

About 6pm a woman was driving south along the Southern Expressway under the Seacombe Road Bridge when she heard something hit the roof of her vehicle. There was minor damage to the car.

In both incidents the drivers were not injured and no one was seen to throw an object.

The incidents are being investigated as rock throwing incidents, taking the total of suspected incidents to 35 in the area so far this year.

Earlier this morning, a driver reported that he was driving north along the Southern Expressway about 6.30am when a rock struck his windscreen in Lonsdale, south of the Sherriffs Road intersection.

The driver was not injured during the incident.

Any motorists who becomes a victim of objects being thrown at their car while driving are asked to stop their vehicle when safe and contact the Police immediately on Triple Zero.
