Further two men charged after shooting in North Albury

A further two men have been charged after a shooting at North Albury at the weekend.

About 7.40pm on Saturday 5 January 2019, two men attended a home in Hicks Place and spoke with the male resident.

Police will allege the three men became involved in an argument and the 39-year-old resident was shot, with the round going through his left hand and into his left thigh.

Emergency services attended, and the injured man was taken to Albury Hospital where he underwent surgery.

Officers from Murray River Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, a 39-year-old man was arrested at a home in Lavington shortly after.

He was charged and remains before the courts.

Following further inquiries, detectives arrested two men at Albury Police Station yesterday (Wednesday 9 January 2018).

A 38-year-old man was charged with possess loaded firearm public place, enter building/land with firearm or imitation firearm, possess unauthorised pistol, use unauthorised pistol, discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm, possess shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority, and an outstanding warrant.

A 44-year-old man was charged with discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm - accessory after the fact, possess unauthorised pistol, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and hinder apprehension person who committed serious offence.

Both men were refused bail to appear at Albury Local Court today (Thursday 10 January 2019).
