Our Bayside Community Nursery is a great place to pick up new indigenous plants to help you create a more climate tolerant and wildlife friendly garden.
Just ask Julian, who has spent the past 18 months transforming his old Black Rock garden into an almost completely indigenous one with plants from Bayside Community Nursery.
Julian and his partner wanted to preserve the local biodiversity that makes Bayside so special.
"When I started researching, the first thing I read was the Live Bayside, Plant Bayside guide," he said.
"I'll admit it was a lot to take in at first, so I decided the better move was to drop into the Nursery and talk to the experts in person.
"The whole team has been nothing short of amazing, providing practical advice, tips and ideas, all delivered in a friendly, no-judgement way.
"On top of that, the Nursery turned out to be an incredibly cost-effective way to source the sheer number of plants a project like this required.
"I'd never have called myself a gardener, two left thumbs, neither one green. But thanks to the team, I've learned an enormous amount, and I actually look forward to getting out in the garden now and watching everything grow."
The nursery is open from 10am to 12pm on Thursdays and Saturdays until 31 October.
