Geelong Nature Fest 2025: Explore & Restore Returns

The City of Greater Geelong is excited to announce the return of Geelong Nature Festival from 12 – 27 July.

Residents and visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the natural wonders of our region through a diverse program of events, workshops, and field activities.

This year's theme, Explore and Restore, celebrates the power of connecting with nature and the profound impact it has on our mental health, wellbeing, physical vitality, and overall happiness.

With a focus on families, the two-week festival offers a diverse range of events and activities designed to help you discover nature throughout Geelong and get involved in conservation efforts.

The festival launch on Saturday 12 July kicks off with a celebration at the Old Paper Mill in Fyansford, featuring inspirational speakers, wildlife interactions from Wildlife Xposure and Roaming Reptiles, kids activities, performances, guided walks, community plantings and more.

The following two weeks will be jampacked with over 50 events across the region, offering an array of activities from garden and sanctuary tours to nature play sessions, workshops, and celebrations of Geelong's more unusual wildlife.

This year's school environmental arts project, involving primary schools across Geelong, will be displayed at the Carousel at the Waterfront throughout the festival.

The festival will culminate on National Tree Day, Sunday 27th July, with community planting at numerous locations across Greater Geelong.The festival is a collaborative effort between the City of Greater Geelong and the Geelong Field Naturalists Club, with support from The School of Lost Arts, Bellarine Catchment Network, and numerous dedicated community volunteer groups.
