Georges River community: Your chance to help inform Council's priorities for next ten years

Georges River Council

Georges River Council is inviting the community to have their say and help Council to decide its priorities, by joining online engagement sessions and completing a survey.

Council's Community Strategic Plan, or 'The Plan', identifies the Georges River community's main priorities and aspirations for the future. The Plan is reviewed every four years to ensure it remains relevant and reflects the needs of the local government area (LGA).

Public consultations over the last three years revealed that local residents and business owners value:

  • The LGA's diverse culture and strong social services;
  • The LGA's varied and productive economy;
  • The LGA's green open spaces, sporting facilities and the Georges River;
  • Facilities to meet the needs of our future community;
  • The LGA's convenient location and transport; and
  • Efficient operating models that focus on service maintenance across the broad range of Council services.

These findings shaped the six pillars that will underpin Council's future work, and the community now has the opportunity to choose the priorities under each pillar.

Council is hosting five online engagement sessions to share more information about The Plan and answer any questions.

Georges River Council Mayor Kevin Greene encourages the community to learn more about The Plan and share their feedback.

"Council is committed to delivering high quality services and facilities for our community, so we want to hear about your priorities.

"We consult local residents and business owners on The Plan, before preparing and refining it – all on behalf of the community. This is your plan, so have your say."
