Georges River Council is proud to celebrate NSW History Week from Saturday 6 September to Sunday 14 September 2025, with a program of exciting events.
This year's theme, Water Stories, reflects on how water is fundamental to life and how it shapes our histories. From the Georges River itself to the marine life beneath the waves, the program will showcase the many ways water has influenced our community and its stories.
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, "Water has always been central to life along the Georges River.
"This year's History Week program allows us to reflect on its cultural, environmental, and social significance, and how it continues to connect and inspire our community.
"I encourage everyone to get involved in the program."
