The United States and Georgia enjoy a strategic partnership that is based on shared values. We will continue to support the Georgian people's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, as well as their efforts to advance democratic and economic development as they rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic. We are proud to support Georgia's efforts to strengthen its defense capabilities, and we appreciate its contributions to NATO's mission in Afghanistan. We honor the Georgians who have sacrificed in pursuit of global peace and security. The United States firmly supports Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and condemns Russia's occupation of Georgia's Abkhazia and South Ossetia regions.
