Visitors to the new Sydney Fish Market and Inner West will enjoy increased services in the evenings, on weekends, and public holidays as 150 extra weekly trips are added to the L1 Dulwich Hill Line timetable.
From Friday 21 November, the uplift means services will run every six minutes on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays between 10am and 7pm.
Evening services will also be more frequent, with trams every 10 minutes from 7pm to 9pm Sunday to Thursday, and between 7pm and 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights.
The increased services come ahead of the January 2026 opening of the new Sydney Fish Market, which is expected to attract six million annual visitors.
To support access to the new Fish Market, the nearby Wentworth Park light rail stop will undergo a $40 million accessibility upgrade to improve access, with proposed features including new lifts, ramps, platform upgrades, lighting, signage, landscaping and CCTV. Community consultation will help shape the final design.
In addition, the NSW Budget 2025-26 has allocated $30 million to construct a new commuter ferry wharf at Blackwattle Bay, further enhancing public transport options to the precinct.
This will deliver better connections for both local residents and the expected six million annual visitors to the new Fish Market when it opens on Monday 19 January.

"We're not just preparing for the opening of a world-class destination - we're investing in better transport for the whole community."

"From when it opens, the new Sydney Fish Market world-class building will attract more than 6 million visitors each year and provide an enormous boost to our economy.
"Whilst you will be able to still get your fresh prawns and fish, the new Sydney Fish Market will also host a range of new dining offerings, attracting visitors for breakfast, lunch and dinner, making these extra services all the more important.
